Jim Dine

       b. 1935, Cincinnati, OH

An American artist whose professional work extends over sixty years. Dine’s styles include painting, drawing, sculpture and photography. Dine is closely associated with the development of Pop art in the early 1960s. At the core of his art lies an exploration of self through a number of personal motifs including: the heart, the bathrobe, tools, art palettes etc.

Dine has had more than 300 exhibitions including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou, Paris; the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; Guggenheim Museum, NY; Tate Gallery, London; Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo;
