Kenny Scharf

Kenny Scharf was born in 1958, in Hollywood, California. He received his BFA in 1980 at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Scharf’s works amalgamates playful animated pop culture with the fine art, pushin the line between high and low art. He found success in New York’s 1980s art scene alongside Haring and Basquiat, along with their mentor—Andy Warhol. His work has been showcased at the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, among others.
